According to a Léger et Léger survey (November 2021), there are an estimated 3,250,000 cats and dogs in Quebec!

That's more than half of all households, 52%, with a cat or dog (not counting other animals!). The feline population is estimated at 2,134,000 cats, while man's best friend is estimated at 1,118,000 dogs. On a Canadian scale, this percentage stands at 58%. It's not hard to imagine that today's figures must be a little higher, given the impact of the pandemic. For lonely people in particular, the addition of a pet became a must to combat loneliness.
